And Scene is like a book club, but for films. The members of the site vote on which film should be featured and every two weeks a new film is chosen. Members then have two weeks to view the film. At the end of this two-week window a discussion forum is opened for 48 hours where members will have the opportunity to share their theories and questions.

wait... a book club for films....?
if i already saw star wars, why do i need to read the book?!!!
- jetSkii0
o i c, there is no book. wonder if the film will show on the site... i'd be down with that idea
- jetSkii0
why can't we do this on QBN?
- scarabin0
isn't this basically what happens anyway?
everyone sees the latest flick, then stand around the watercooler talking about it?
- it sucked.wagshaft
- but now you can have the useless opinions of people you don't know!Mr_Fantastic

Discussion forum.
Opinion 1: I liked it.
Opinion 2: You're a cunt.

Well, I'm hoping to target a slightly more verbose group than the "it sucked" crowd...

I like the idea. Referring to it as a book club for films is necessary imo as calling it a film or movie club sounds like a columbia house dvd subscription thing. Not sure if a 48 hr window to discuss is enough time?
- What about two weeks for film, one week for talk. Might lose momentum possibly tho...prophet
- I'm pretty settled on 48 hours. I'm trying to keep this in line with the book club concept where you have more like 2-3 hours to discuss.autonoma
- Well see how it goes. Time online is not like reality, for every 5min in book club time it's an hour online.prophet
- And then you have to factor in Mol getting in the way...prophet

How is Rotten Tomatoes anything at all like this?

So far so good. Sign ups are going well, despite the

This site is no good for me. I like to turn to the person next to me in the cinema and tell them what I think of the film on a scene by scene basis, adding my thoughts on how the film might pan out in successive scenes if I have an inkling.
I'm quite well known around town for this.

Yeah, I'd suggest not signing up.

Can anyone here recommend some good online film forums? I'd love to get some feedback from the same group I'd essentially be targeting with this site.
I already posted in the MUBI forums and received some GREAT feedback.suggestions.
- IMDB forums are probably more immature than YouTube comments.autonoma
