Here's a tip.
http://lifehacker.com/5719714/zi…I had to go out on Saturday because my hard drive died and I needed a replacement. I could have used a little help.

@OBBTKN
I remember you were looking for some cycling inspiration.
Have you tried gravel?

Hi pal. Been in Girona, but without my bike.
In summer, which is when I travel, I do it with my wife, and she is allergic to bikes :(
But, I'm really tempted with gravel, but I already have 3 bikes!
On the Trek I can put 700x30 tires and I have some with knobs, maybe one day.

i've never really understood how gravel became a thing. i've ridden firetracks and bridalways ever since i started cycling again, mainly to avoid busy roads.
and now there's a whole industry seemingly developed around it, but to me it looks like people are being 'conned' into buying a special bike when the whole point (for me) is that any bike can manage an unmetalled track. a mountain bike is different - it needs to deal with any kind of terrain and a lack of paths so i kind of get that. but gravel?
but i'm not a bike nut, only ever own one bike at a time, and they're always unremarkable jack of all trades (what i think used to be called "hybrids"). straight handlebars, mondial tyres, pannier, what else do you need?
- "but I'm not a bike nut" is the key here, I'm not one either. I understand nuts tho. It's not about getting from A to B but the feeling you get from riding.palimpsest

It's just a fad, but the industry needs to sell bicycles... From what I've read, sales have plummeted, and gravel is a catalyst.
There has always been a lot of love for cyclo-cross here, but gravel is not taking off.
There are road people and MTB people.
- well i wish the fad would pass, sick of all my favourite routes being clogged by superkeen mamils and strava nutshans_glib
- Gravel has already reached its peak and is probably on the downfall. Don't hold.palimpsest

^^ Standard steel frame racing bikes can really only accommodate 23, mebbe 25cm tires. Sure, you can 'ride' gravel on those tires but it's much more enjoyable with a bike that has better clearance and possibly a higher bottom bracket.
Definitely not a fad. More like a bridge between road, cross and mtb. The world got more populated, building added value into road geometry gives people more options. The Market rushed in to fill the void.

- A bath, read while some fish bite, a quick fire with some branches, accompany the fish with a little wine, a nap, and back home with the best plan ;)OBBTKN

The Trans Dinarica: A new 5,500km bike trail connecting one of Europe's most remote regions
pretty cool, would love to bike that one day
- I could have offered you support but it seems like you'd be in grafician territory.
I work for a bike travel company if you need any help with logistics.palimpsest - Ey, looks beautiful. But, too many hills for my taste. I don't like ebikes and I prefer flat routes ;)OBBTKN

Been riding a bike for a couple years now. I’m very lucky to have a small state park a couple blocks away with a lake and forested area. The course around the lake is 4 miles (6.5km), and is mostly hard packed bridal path through the woods with lots of options for paths and some paved areas. I’m loving it even more now that my son is off training wheels and can join me!
- All trails combined are well over 15 miles through the park areas so I’m always finding new places to explore.monospaced

I'm back on the stationary bike...
I need muscle for spring and improve my endurance. Sadly, my lungs still remember nicotine :(
I hope to be able to slow down the pace of work by then and be able to go out on routes.
Keep it strong guys!!
