Can you "easily" build custom tool palettes? I want to just selectively have the tool I only use on a smaller panel. Is this possible?
Cheers.

not really, the best advice I can give you is to collapse the toolbar and use keyboard shortcuts to select tools if you want a simpler interface.
- I'd love to do that.. but when working with type, that can become a ballacheProjectile

yeah like double said I just do that. turn off the control. keep the tool bar open and completely vertical.
Im always using F6, F7, and cmd + T
- weird, I don't use those at alldoublespaced
- oh, I see, they activate entire palettes. I was talking more about 'E' for free transform, 'T' for text, etc...doublespaced
- yeah I use all the shortcuts for tools. in addition learning to hide all the pallettes saves a ton of roomgenfourth

Thats actually good simple advice. And ultimately more productive. Cheers.

best you can do is "tear-off" tools which are stacked into their own floating palettes and collapse the rest.
- you can't do that various tools on the main palette unfortunately.Centigrade
- umm yes you canhorton
- not all of them.Centigrade

yes you can... stacked tools (with triangle in corner) pull across to sidebar for tear off

Sorry guys I know you can pull off certain tools into tear aways. But not all of them. I was looking for a solution to pull of the live paint tool and a few other. Which you can't do yet.
