I was thinking about using this for an upcoming publishing project, but discovered its only available to US residents. Looks like I'll have to go with Indiegogo, which has much better terms, but the site design leaves much to be desired.

I'd recommend trying to work with Kickstarter as it is the most well-known to potential pledgers. Got any relatives in the states or close friends there? You could have them set up a bank account just for this project.
