Using sports logos?

Just wondering if anybody knows the rules regarding the use of sports logos for clothing.
Obviously changing them somewhat but basically using the same fonts - Eg. Changing the N to an M in the yankees logo, F to a P in the SF Giants logo etc.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

sounds like a classic case of copyright infringement...

no rules, it's clearly copyright infringement. just depends whether you got the balls to do it anyways. worst case scenario you'll get a cease and desist letter tells you to pull image/product. but that could suck if you just printed 500 tshirts.

I am not really sure about the copyright infringement issues that you may have, but here are some free sports style fonts:

I thought it might be copyright infringement but I see big streetwear brands do it all the time, sometimes only changing the colorscheme.
Wow, thanks for the heads up Utopian!

The only way its not copyright infringement is...
You change over 50% of the logo or you do parodies like this...
- So you could make the Sixers the Stinkers...Stuff like that********
