thanks for the response but from the site that doesn't look top-shelf. maybe i'm judging the site from all the flashy and free offers(?) have you used them before? do they do heavy stock, digital press?

their focus is printing - not web. i've just gotten a bunch of 9 foot tall prints from them and they look great-
you have to be a member to get quotes from them- but all you need for that is a tax resale number. they dont list anything thicker than 100 lb for posters- but if you request an estimate they can find something to work. good luck

I've been pleased with http://www.48hourprint.com/ and http://www.uprinting.com/ as far as quality and price. Modern Postcard has the longstanding reputation in the art world where color standards are especially high, but you're going to pay more.

posterxxl.com ...i've used them before. solid quality and there's no minimum run order.

thanks everyone!
luccio. is this a glossy print or matte? i'm looking for a heavy stock digital press print that doesn't resemble a glossy photograph. a print with some tooth to it.
thank you all! very much appreciated!- You can print your image either on special 230mg² semi-matt photographic paper or on high quality 300mg² canvas.akrok

thank so much akrok! i love the idea of supporting my local printer but i'm in the mountains of north carolina and it came up zero results. when i'm back in boston i'll definitely use them though. gracias!

uprinting has shit for customer service. they never call you, ever, even if your nearly-$1000 order specifically says that they call you before mailing. and when you call and they say they'll call you back, they don't.
fuck'em.

posterxxl.com appears to be pretty good: HP photo matte stock 9mil. i would prefer a much heavier stock with a bit of a tooth to it but this seems to be the front runner.
any other options guys?
again. thank you all!
cheers!
