Crazy story to share

This past Sunday night at about 11:00 pm, I was listening to headphones in our condo and noticed several police lights slowing down around our building. We're on the 8th floor with windows looking north and east. I could see some people looking towards the building, so I went out to our balcony and looked down, and there was a guy covered in a white sheet on the sidewalk, blood pooling up under his head. Looked like he didn't have a shirt on or shoes. Figured he was definitely dead. Paramedics were frantically working to get him off the ground.
At first I thought maybe he was shot - there's been some gang bullshit in our area lately. It turned out that he either jumped or fell from his 5th floor balcony. We were going downstairs to see what happened, and a guy got on the elevator with us who said that was probably his neighbor.
Later that night firemen had to force entry into his condo. He lived alone and nobody else was there. So, we're not sure if it was suicide, or if he was just being careless and fell off the railing.
But yesterday morning I looked at the area where it happened, and noticed broken glass. Looked up and noticed that he must have fallen right along the side of the building, crashed into the H in the Chase bank sign, and his head slammed back into a window, then fell to the ground. See pic below.
It really shook me up; it was just shocking to look down 8 floors and see someone dead on the sidewalk. We heard the cops say they heard he was alive, but was probably not going to make it. I've been checking obituaries in Chicago but have not seen his name yet.
After they removed his body there were other spots of blood on the ground, and I couldn't figure out how they got there. After noticing the broken sign, it made sense that his feet, back, and head could have gotten seriously cut from that sign.
If I hear anything else about it I'll share it here.
