The thing is this style of music once sounded kind of radical...now it seems completely pedestrian.
Like I said, not hatin', its fun party music, and I would go see him at a show. But for someone they made a documentary about, I'm not sure if what he is doing artistically is really worth commenting on much.

I don't think its about his artist merit at this point, but his craft. He really is good at breaking these things apart and making new, whole creations from them. The new result is seamless, and if one is not familiar with the source material, they may never know its the furthest thing from an "original" song out there. There are plenty of bad "mixers" out there who are creating shit mashups on their powerbooks, but GT seems to do it in a way that at least sounds professional, and like he knows wtf he's doing. Especially if you listen to his earlier stuff, you can hear quite easily that he's gotten better at it.

It's hard to really judge Gregg's music unless you've seen him live. Now that's he's "big time" I don't even see the point in him wasting his money on putting out CD's.

I like this album, but his sample choices aren't as much to my taste as Night Ripper, or anything by E-603 or Phoenix Jukebox.
He is more skilled than either of them but I prefer E-603 and Phoenix Jukebox because of the more poppy/humorous mixes they put together.
