GlaxoSmithKline pays fine after admitting many of its most popular drugs sold over the past decade, including anti-depressent Paxil, and heart medication Coreg were ineffective or contaminated due to poor conditions at its main plant in Puerto Rico.

no real surprise, as most peoples depression can't be solved by drugs in the first place

"shares in the company fell 0.35 percent"
Quater billion in fines is nothing too them. Insane.
- sikma0
Oops, it appears to be 750million, in fines. Christ that's nuts.

a lot of the manufacturing of our drugs are made in Puerto Rico. from Johnson & Johnson, Abbott Labs, GSK (as mentioned in the article) Pfizer to Tibotec Therapeutics. i've worked with my share of these companies and each of them have productions lines in PR and often times more then one IP being manufactured.

It's just amazing to think that the people who were prescribed those drugs will never see anything back, even though they could have been spending heavily on a medication that did nothing.

I love this one..."Avandia may not be right for everyone. Talk to your doctor if you have heart failure problems."
Of course, a lot of people who have heart failure problems are fucking dead and can't talk to their doctor.
