Don't think it's a long shot here but I'm guessing they are aiming at the particular age group (and the lack of technological proficiency) that those "two dickshits" represent.
If the jerk-around bickering wasn't a giveaway,
the offer of a phone with big buttons should have given you a hint as to who'd be "gives a flying shit".Numbers work. 10$ a month is catchy, and if the characters talk fast enough (and seem genuinely honest enough) people might not be asking what the rates for calling are until they're already at the stores.
Good for them, I'm sure they'll make money.
