I'm working on this website for a client
they had a designer do this in flash a while ago and need it updated but want to keep this type of functionality. is there a script or an easy way to emulate this without it being done 100% in flash so that it can be viewed on smart phones / ipads etc ?

i'm no expert but i think jquery will handle this

you could do that in jquery.

Just off the top of my head I know something similar can be achieved using jQuery, closest example would be a modified coda slider.
Of course just off the top of my head, not browser or smart phone tested.

oh yeah, that is easy to do with jquery.
for the hover effects:
$("#imagecontainer .rolloverImage").hover(
function() { $(this).attr("src", $(this.attr("src_on")) },
function() { $(this).attr("src", $(this.attr("src_off")) }
);for the slide effect and loading the div underneath:
$("#imagecontainer .rolloverImage").click(function... {
$("#bio").load('biographies/' + $(this).attr('id') + '.html');
$(#imagecontainer ).animate({left: '-500'});
});replace all the ids and classes with your own.
- 'function...' should be 'function()'
qbn is weird sometimes.bigtrick
- 'function...' should be 'function()'

Just out of curiosity, why not just use CSS hover states for this with different background images? Why the need for jQuery at all for this?
And you could, you know, find a way to, *acquire* what's going on here as well...
- for the slide and for keepinp all in one file you need JsintVal
- AH..I missed the slide..but then again..CSS3TheBlueOne

Thanks for the input, I've used Jquery before but never for something like this I'll have to check it out again.
The files and everything I have to work with are a disaster and I would rather just build a new solution then try and tweak what they have.

also make sure the slide has easing.

anyone know any samples of jquery used like my sample ?

threw this together real quick. I didn't do the little tab to close it, just click anywhere in the box to slide it closed. you can figure out how to attach that to some other element.
