Trying to find a relatively recent thread ( last couple months or so) about style guides for magazines and/or publications. The filter is not helping much nor is a google search.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Interested in seeing this one too, I can't find the thread either. Was it talking about one particular mag d_rek?

@goldieboy,
I can't remember what publication it was for specifically...
I want to say it was more akin to design guidelines / standards than a style sheet. I'm coming up blank...
Maybe gramme knows?
gramme!!! help!!!!

If it's mag questions you have, feel free to drop me an email as that what I do.

goldie,
I'm just looking for some well-designed design standards for magazines / publications - grid layouts, typography, colors, rhetorical design elements.
I need some reference material as i've been tasked with redesigning a monthly corporate publication. The current standards are rather bland - more akin to basic page templates than anything.

Monocle has one that they send out with their press kits. But I doubt this will be very much help at all:

Beyond that, I've got nothing.

Have a look at this website: http://www.spd.org
Especially Scott Dadich process post: http://www.spd.org/the-process/
Also: http://magculture.com/blog/
Magazines generally don't have a 'standard' that's set across all titles, each magazine varies so much in format, grids, typography, colours etc to the next... And that's the beauty of magazine design.
