Would a 90k yearly salary be good enough if I wanted to live in a nice area in venice w/ no dependants?
Would I be able to save $$$ as well ?
depends on your lifestyle, but it's certainly possible.
which areas would be generally nice in venice and which website could I search an apartment on? thx!
I lived in Venice for a year. If you can, try and find something on the canals. There are only a couple of streets worth left, but they're awesome! Other than that, close to Santa Monica is nice, and anything near Abbot Kinney.
i would say, you looking at $2000/mo and up on rent. but you could find apt. for $1600/mo if you lucky. also that would be a studio or 1bd max.
where you do live at the moment? fxone.
i lived in a pretty sweet apt on 4th and Rose 4yrs ago making 90k... no problem. my rent at the time was $1950/month. i love all those little streets off AbbottKinney.
I also lived in a decent place behind Vidiots on Bay and 3rd only making 50k. ~6yrs ago
an other foggy day.
With no debt, sure.
Do you have to live in Venice? There are other equally nice areas right around there that can be a bit more affordable. Just a thought.
cool thanks! any areas to avoid in venice?
easy man - thats decent bank. If you live off of Abbott Kinney then you will save some money. Just don't expect to have a beach view fancy hipster loft.
Real cool area though - surfs up.
"cool thanks! any areas to avoid in venice?"
don't know. i know before they had major gang problem.
still some decent crime in the area but they've upped the police patrols so its getting better. i believe there is currently an arsonist on the loose who strikes every now and again, and i'm not even joking on that.
I just moved to 7th and santa monica blvd from NYC... really cool in santa monica....
