Looking for a decent film scanner that doesnt take up a lot of foot print on my desk.
Any suggestions? I mainly shot with 35mm slides.

Not bad for the price. Really your only option now unless you want a used Nikon or Imacon

Nikon has gone up in price for some reason (used market).
How is Imacon? Never used it.
And the one you mentioned, plustek. Have you used it?Not really looking for really high resolution. Just more scans to categorize my films.

Imacon drum scanners are the pinnacle. They are slow but unbeatable. I can't see using an Imacon being practical unless you are scanning with an aim to print on a lambda or something for a gallery show.

True, Imacon is about 12k right?
I guess I could rent it out but I prefer something I can do something quickly.

does 35mm only, small footprint. £1,225.07 at microglobe. 4000dpi max res but will also do lo-res scans much faster.

There are services that scan neg pretty cheap if all you need is screen resolution....
Never underestimate the value of dust and scratches fixing.... digitalIce is pretty good....

You may be able to find a commercial photographer who has a really nice film scanner gathering dust who will let you use it in return for a day or two of studio assisting or doing something boring like sending out a mass-mailing
- i guess in here we just passed the stone age, with this types of service exchanges, pardon me.shoto_can
