So I just got a (mt) dv account and thought with all their talk of "1-click installs" of WP this would be easy. Not quite.
I'm trying to install Wordpress with MediaTemple using Plesk's Application Vault with the .app file downloaded from apsstandard.org and I get an error message.
IT READS:
Unable to register the package located in the directory "WordPress-3.0-5": The uploaded application distribution package does not conform to the AppPacks specifications: DOMDocument::relaxNGValidate() [<a href='domdocument.relaxngvalidate'>domdocument.relaxngvalidate</a>]: Did not expect element id there.. You should remove the package from the server because it will not function properly.I read that you need to create a sub-domain (which I have done) and install in there first.
Can anyone advise?
BTW - I have tried their forums and got nada. I know lots of you here use (mt) and must hate Plesk as much as I am starting to.

why not just download WP from their website and install? I mean, that isnt 1 click, but it isnt really genius-level either.

I thought 1 click install was on the Grid server. What you are trying to do sounds incredibly complicated and unnecessary. Just install Wordpress like normal like heavyt said. Only thing you might want to do through Plesk is create a database.

Bear with me heavy - I'm a noob to this -
So simply, download, unzip and upload...? and viola?
Excuse the ignorance.

I have configured the PHP files in my WP install and uploaded. Problem is, when I try to access the install PHP page, my browser tries to download the file instead of taking me to the config.
Is this a PHP installation problem?
