sorry for the really boring post lads, but I want to know how you organise your files. Mac users, do you keep your client's websites in the 'sites' folder provided my OS X? If so, do you keep other work (let's say an identity design) in a separate 'work in progress' folder?
My files are all over the shop and it's becoming a bit evil keeping track, especially with multiple redundant backups and syncing to dropbox.

I don't use any of OSX's systems folders (sites, docs, pics, etc). Everything I do is on a partitioned external drive.

giant work folder > client > project

acescence has got the best way of doing it...that's what I do. I've got
Client folder > Project > (and if it's a print job I've got multiple folders inside that) Artwork, Resources, Images (and inside Artwork I phase all my stages). Either that or use Adobe Version Cue!

I keep everything on my desktop, then I know where it is.
