I'm trying to run multiple versions of Firefox on my Mac.
I've got two profiles set up. I'd like my default profile to run 3.6.8 - which it is. I'd like my second profile to run 3.5.
I've downloaded and installed 3.5, but how do I get my second profile to run the older version of firefox?
cheers

Mind if i ask what the point of this would be?
Other than that I don't have an answer for you. Maybe try the FF support forum? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US…

You are doing it wrong

I need to run the web dev toolbar and it doesn't work with 3.6

downgrade, no real point in using last version

You don't need separate profiles to run multiple versions of FF. I've got 3 different versions in my Apps folder (3.0, 3.5, 3.6) and just label the apps as such. You just can't run them simultaneously. Here are a slew of older versions:

Start here http://support.mozilla.com/en-US…
With a bit of command line magic you can name the profile when you start Firefox otherwise the profile manager can be set up to prompt you for which profile you want to use.
The optimal way is to start up FF3.5 and get it to create a new profile rather than using the one which already exists. Not sure how you'd go about this, command line magic again I'd guess.
- its the command line magic that i don't knowjbenjohnson
- they tell you exactly what to type on that pageacescence

elahon - yep i've got that. I usually have 20-30 tabs open at once so I don't like switching versions, although I may have too.
Obviously, you can run lots of versions of Firefox at the same time, I just can figure out how to downgrade one of the versions

I always have like 20 firefoxes windows open at a time..

perhaps you're confusing OS profiles with firefox profiles? just launch each version and create/select a profile for each per the instructions that comicsans posted above
- brodyR0
if you want to get hacked go ahead and run the older version lol
