    Hi guys,

I'm due to set a fashion company based in London and was wondering if you could help me with finding the best optimised web host for the UK.

The site will be video heavy and also aiming to have ecommerce check out (the ability to use visa, credit cards, debit, paypal, etc).

The bus bank account is due to be put together soon, and i heard that the banks can sort some of package for ecom.

Do you think their package would be good, or am I better off going off my own to find the right one?

    Difference between magento / sage?

    Recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

    Here's a few tips:

Don't use godaddy unless you want your magento site to be slower than god.

You can have the ability to check out on any hosting service as long as you're able to install SSL certificates onto your hosting server.

I haven't heard of any 'banks' offering eCommerce solutions... but there are plenty of companies like Quickbooks and Sage offering merchant services and financial management software that can potentially 'sync' to your eCommerce store. A company like sage, which offers merchant services, also offers up CC processing online. What you purchase and use is entirely need-based. Figure out your specific needs and find the company / service that best suites your needs. (I can't recommend quickbooks anything however. Fuck those motherfuckers.)

Magento is an eCommerce platform built with the intention of giving online store owners and developers very robust capabilities when building their stores.

Sage is not an eCommerce platform. Sage is a company that offers financial management software that might play nice with your eCommerce software, depending on the cart.

My recommendation would be that you get in-touch with someone who deals with these things on a regular basis. There are a *fuckton* of considerations to be had for an online store.

most banks have e-commerce payment gateways that you can use - though can be tricky to setup. You'll need to hire a developer.

Get a good developer who will decide for you.
