    I'm not sure what version this started, but once upon a version, you could double click a quicktime footage item in the project window and get a pop up preview with quicktime controls. Now you get a stupid footage panel in the composition frame, which is usually useless.

    Is there any way to get the quicktime interface back?

    not quite the same thing, but selecting the ftg in the project window and hitting apple+E will open it in quicktime proper (in CS4 anyways)

    • Yeah, I've been doing that.
      Just make sure the Quicktime Player is chosen to open Quicktime files in the Finder.      CyBrain
