So I was thinking of buying an iMac for use at my home office. Right now I use a Macbook hooked up to a Cinema Display monitor. Was wondering, is it possible to connect the Cinema Display to the iMac as a second monitor, or do I need some kind of adaptor to make it work?

^ Looks like that's the older display they are talking about. I was wondering if the newest models of each work together without needing an extra adaptor

shouldnt be a issue with a DVI monitor - not sure if all new macs are shipping with the 'mini-dvi' port tho, worse case scenario is a cheap adapter will be needed.

yes i have a 2009 imac connected to a 2005-ish cinema dispaly.
easy connection (not like link)... just 1 apple adapter, cost maybe 20$.

you can also find generic ones cheaper than the one you get from apple

just be aware that older model imacs only allow mirroring, not actually extending the desktop through multiple monitors.
might not matter but wasn't sure if you're talking a new imac or not.
