Print to web - Learning?

  I've worked with print designers who made a HUGE mistake:

  Showing mockup layouts to clients before you know if what you've layed out will actually work in HTML/CSS

  Then hiring freelance developers to "just do the layout, don't you get it?!?!" .... doesn't work that way sometimes....
