Mail / mobileme / iphone

My setup is this.
Gmail forwards to mobileme which syncs with iphone and mail app. So I use all Apple for mail and Gmail as a backup / long term archive.Is there a way to sync mobile and gmail using Imap, so either can be used, all the time?
I guess the answer is no but if anyone's got a yes I'd like to hear how!

if gmail offers an imap server then there's an answer. not 'the' answer but certainly 'an' answer.

Sorry I don't understand the question. You want to sync your gmail and mobileme mail? or simply have your gmail on your iphone mail?

Never done this, just a thought:
you could forward emails from mobileme to gmail and forward gmail to mobileme. Don't know on mobileme but on gmail,you have lots of options, like mark as read forwarded messages and auto archive, etc.. Create a rule to not forward emails from your mobileme.
I don't have Mobileme so don't know if that kind of options are available there
