This band Giant Squid sounds like System of a Down with more weed, a cello player, and less Rick Rubin, if they were from the Pacific Northwest.
If you like Modest Mouse get some The Paper Chase. Like Modest Mouse, but darker, more dissonant and generally more fucked up. The front man for The Paper Chase actually produced albums for said Modest Mouse, amongst tons of other shit.
If you like Atmosphere, check out the whole Anticon scene. Dudes like Doseone, Sole, Why? and Odd Nodsam. Personally my favorite Anticon releases are the cLOUDEAD ones, but theyre a little more experimental. Also check out Buck 65.
If you listen to Sublime it would be wise to maybe stop (sorry...) and listen to real reggae and dub. Lee Perry, Junior Murvin, Max Romeo, I donno, stuff like that. And maybe Bad Brains.
Marty Friedman was in this awesome Christian Thrash (Yikes, sounds scary, I know, but its not shit like that) band Tourniquet for their album "Where Moth and Rust Destroy," which also features a member of legendary doom metal band Trouble.
If you like Tool, you'll probably like the later Isis albums (Adam Jones guests) and if you can dig the more extreme stuff I think Justin Chancellor might be on the new Intronaut album comming out sometime in the near future.
