have you seen examples of photos printed in magazines that, when you take a photo of it with your camera phone, takes you to a website through your phone?
if so, what is that called? have you worked with it? is it expensive?

would be nice to incorporate the QR into the actual design of the page, i wonder if the phone would pick it up then?

QR codes are free, generate them here: http://qrcode.kaywa.com/
AR is not free, did a campaign last year, will generally run you 10-50k depending on what you want

people magazine developed their own type of code that's scanned with a proprietary mobile people app
each issue usually has a dozen or so instances of it

so, these qr codes have to look like a video game element? or can they be put inside of a, say, like an image of a tiger or something else entirely?

QR codes are a joke. They will never catch on in America. Quote that.
- they've already "caught on"scarabin
- a ton of major corporations are using them for book-keeping type stuff. look closely at your phone, cable, insurance bills, etc and chances are there's a small one in a corner somewhere. that's the code they use to represent youscarabin

- too many people are making their own proprietary code systems for QR to dominate the mechanic on its own though, that's safe to sayscarabin
