I want him to get angry because there is so much to be really really angry about that has nothing to do with race.

Everywhere has a few racists, but that doesn't necessarily mean a country is racist. However, there is wide-spread racism in Canada towards natives. It's a part of our history, and still commonplace throughout the country. Obviously there are tons of Canadians who aren't racist, but many are. And of course, there is also racism among natives towards non-natives.
And there's a bit of resentment between the French and English. And sometimes the east and west. But I wouldn't exactly call that racism.

wrong Ukit, It's because a bunch of white Europeans enslaved a bunch of black people to clean up their shit and make dinner while they went out and genocided the fuck out of the indigenous population.
Americans are basically Euro-fag-genocidal-up-a-yo-face...
- damn that cut off ;)lowimpakt

Having said that, this article is a great example of what a bunch of morons the American media are. Who gives a shit whether Obama gets angry or not? Will his anger magically levitate the oil out of the water?
- The teabaggers who want to see him angry and then ostracize him for doing so instead of cleaning up.omgitsacamera
- I hear from inside source it will.TheBlueOne
- The teabaggers will ostracize him no matter what he does. That's their job, that's what they do.TheBlueOne

I think it has something to do with the fact that America enslaved one particular race (black people) for the first hundred some years of its existence and just gave them equal rights 50 years ago.
- In case you didn't know, yes it was black peopleukit
- It was? My imported book from Texas says it was Latinos & African Americans who voluntarily gave their servitude.omgitsacamera
- haha, that's right, they were totally cool with it. No hard feelingsukit
- "the first one hundred years"? I think you need a multiplier on that.TheBlueOne
- Yeah, it was just the trend back then, just like Apple. People wanted to be with the times.omgitsacamera
- 1776 - 1865 ?ukit
- Well, if you count the colonial period as Americas 'existence', then it would be like 250/300 yrsomgitsacamera
- First slaves brought to America in 1619.TheBlueOne
- You can go back all the way to 1502 when the Spaniards brought enslaved Africans to her Caribbean colonies.omgitsacamera
- OK, let's go back to 1502.

LOL at Snakes on a Plane momentWho would have ever expected some white Americans to demand that an African-American man show more rage?
If you've followed the Gulf of Mexico oil disaster, you've heard the complaints that Obama isn't showing enough emotion.
But scholars say Obama's critics ignore a lesson from American history: Many white Americans don't like angry black men.
It's the lesson Obama absorbed from his upbringing, and from an impromptu remark he delivered last summer. Yet it's a lesson he may now have to jettison, they say, as public outrage spreads.
"Folks are waiting for a Samuel Jackson 'Snakes on the Plane' moment from this president as in: 'We gotta' get this $#@!!* oil back in the $#!!* rig!' But that's just not who Obama is,'' says Saladin Ambar, a political science professor at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Some of the same people crying for Obama to show more emotion would have voted against him if he had displayed anger during his presidential run, says William Jelani Cobb, author of "The Substance of Hope: Barack Obama and the Paradox of Progress."

it's not that people aren't racist north of the 49th. it exists here just like anywhere else. it just that people don't get so charged up about it.

so when you are born canadian, you're just inherently instilled with a more balanced disposition on ethnicities? haha
also, not all of you agree on this:

SteveJobs: I live in Toronto, where the majority of residents weren't even born in Canada. I'm pretty sure Canada is more multicultural/multiethnic/w.e. than the US.

it's the tilt of the earth's axis and the alignment of planets in our solar system. scientists determined this a long time ago.
or maybe because america has more representation of every race than any other country on earth and we're forced to live along side one another?
Archie Bunker: "I'm not racist; I hate everybody."

Why are Americans so obsessed with race?
- Most Americans are simply racist: Black, White, Latino, Asian, etc...utopian
- It is what makes America, America.utopian
- Most Americans are racist in some way or another, its just the way life is in this country.CygnusZero4
