Oh man, I would keep exploring the possibilities of the M / W logo. Sooooo many things you could do with that letter combo.

letterhead, someone else has told me that, but I've been working on it for days, sketching in my spare time...it's not as easy as it first looks.

I don't think you're getting what you need from the geometric diamond shapes. Have you tried anything more expressive? E.g., something 3-D? Corkscrew, ribbon, etc... without making it gradifiedsplosions like all the kids are doing, of course.
Or, you could typeset one name @ 90 degree angle, and the other @ 180 degrees. That way, they could share the same letter. Depending on how you look at it, it's either an M or a W.
You could also set the names in a circle, with M at the top and W at the bottom.
Just a couple idears of the top of my head.

the symbol is rad... make it clean tho.
not a fan of the hand drawn look.

looks kind of weak.
Make the symbol strong or make the company name strong.
Do they have a marketing specialty they're focusing on?
I think you really lucked out with the M and W. You should be able to make a great symbol with those two letters.
Gawd, their website is horrible. You have a great opportunity here.
I would try an 'erector set' type symbol with the M and W.

Fred, I agree with you that my designs are kind of weak. Especially compared to the old logo. The old logo is bad from a "taste" point of view (the outdated type and the clunky contrast device). But it's still strong and visually cohesive.
