I'm based in Ireland, and an American client has a query about at&t internet solutions - Anyone use them to boost their advertising and hits? does it work? Would my client be better off with a one-line phone book ad and some adwords?

let me preface this by saying i don't know anything specifically about at&t internet solutions. Having said that, it probably depends on your clients target group, but if their target group is anything in my age group...i haven't touched a phone book in years, except to throw it out. Anyone that has a smart phone or laptop I daresay, would just google what they are looking for.
But if their target group is say 45+ then the phone book might be a viable option...but I don't see that getting them more site hits. If someone takes the time to look it up in the phone book I imagine they would just call.

sorry I can't really help you there, i don't know much about those services. Usually refrain from giving my clients business advice, and simply offer to build anything they might need, if they choose to go that route.
- Godady offers a search engine visibility...I'm sure other hosting services do also, that might be an optionrusty_ace

I don't think AT&T's ad network would be useful.... sounds like there is just a salesperson trying to convince you....

NOTE: my girlfriend works at an architecture firm, every day she gets a number of phone calls from people trying to sell her phone book ads, she thinks there's an army of desperate salespeople out there..
