Anyone out there who can explain the main difference between dutch and belgian spoken language?
- Continuity0
If I understand correctly, there's little difference between Dutch and Flemmish Dutch, at least not grammatically. The Dutch spoken in Flanders has several differences in vocabulary and accents, but really, that's about the extent of it.
The differences are definitely not as pronounced as the differences between Dutch and Afrikaans.

just the accents. and some words are used differenty.
we (belgium) use 'poepen' when we say 'fucking'
in netherlands they say 'poepen' when they say shitting- That can lead to interesting misunderstandingsStian

On a funny related note, if you really want to see an Afrikaner get hot under the collar, refer to his language as a Dutch dialect. XD
