Hi er'body,
Posting a heads up that there is a new online phone book with personal info called Spokeo.com. It has EVERYTHING (and I mean everything!) from pictures you've posted on Facebook or web, your approx credit score, home value, income, age, etc.You can remove yourself by first searching for yourself on their site to find the URL of your page, then scroll all the way down to the bottom of your profile, click on 'Privacy' to remove yourself - this will take you to step 1. After step 1 is complete, you will need to check your inboxes for confirmation regarding step 2 - the whole process should not take no more than a few minutes.
BUT WAIT - While Spokeo has a Privacy link that provides a process for removal of a name from Public Listing, what it also does is harvest a legitimate e-mail address. The legitimate e-mail address is then available for purchase, potentially opening up the email address to spam.
So, when opting out, use a temporary email alias like http://tempalias.com/#/
Also, for married women, you may have to search under your maiden name if you took your husband's last name.
Peace
