I don't do a ton of modeling in C4D, so this is eluding me -
I'm building out some basic stuff for a street scene - lights, newspaper vending thingie, etc. All low poly.
I've noticed that when I start to extrude and push/pull stuff around in the model, the mesh starts to get that funky shaded look. I seem to remember that it means the mesh isn't exactly stable and it might present problems later?
Is that accurate? What's the fix for that?

adjust your phong tag.

sub-divide that puppy!!

Phong tag seems to be the answer, adjusting the angle. Never really paid attention to that before. Cheers.

here's a great explanation of phong shading and how it works to smooth out your polys without increasing geometry

That's great stuff, thanks!

As an aside - I've used this set of free models before, got most basic street furniture covered, and nicely done, if a bit cartoonish...
