Hello :)
In InDesign, how do I set headings and subheadings to a state that they show up in a pdf as a tree structure, like in the image below.
The purpose is that I can see which articles are on what pages and I can jump to them by clicking this segmented outline (or index)of the pdf.
Anyone know this?

I THINK this has to do with the obscure Table of Contents tools.

- Well, it is. Layout > Show all menu items > Table of Contents. Not many people even know about it. But, that's the solution.monospaced

lajj, you laughed at the "obscure" reference. Do you use the Table of Contents functions in InDesign? If you do, could you give us some tips? I see a "Create PDF Bookmarks" checkbox in the dialogue box, and I believe that it dictates the type of content in the image above. If you laughed at me, could you instead confirm or help?

you are right. The Table of Contents apparently HAS to be in the file...
If it's not in the file it doesn't seem to be working.. really annoying me.
Found some help using this article as well:
