turning off "copy"

  is there a way to turn off photoshop adding "copy" to the name of every layer you duplicate in photoshop?

  Would love to know if there is, but don't think so. I even went so far as to contact adobe about making that "on/off" feature in CS5... no luck.

  For big sites with lots of layer sets, I started to just create a separate doc (history tab, small arrow has a drop down menu "new document"). And then I drag and drop the entire layer set back to my working PSD. Way easier then editing a hundred or more layer names.
