Would you ever disclose how you came to your pricing, as a sub contractor; to the main contractor?
I am being asked how I am coming to my pricing, how much detail would you go into? Assuming you have other contractors/employees you are hiring along with you(which has been disclosed already).

it's called a bill. one line stating "services rendered" is insufficient and disrespectful

An old client used this (for their criminal defence law firm):

"We generally do not bill our clients by the hour, but on a quoted flat fee basis. Our practice is to initially meet with clients without charge so that we can first assess their problem, and then determine whether and how we can help....Fees are calculated using a number of considerations, with estimated time for our services being only one of the factors. Other factors considered are: complexity or novelty of defence required."

I always liked that explanation. You're not just pulling numbers out of your ass, but it's also not just a straight hourly fee.
