Thinking about picking up one of those hot 7D's. I have reservations because its not full-frame, and most people I talk to say the full-frame 5D has changed how they view features on a DSLR.
The interwebs hold no intel on a 7D mark ii, nor can I find anything about a 5D mark iii that would j incorporate the better video features (24 / 60 fps) of the 7D.
Is it worth to wait (who knows how long) for a full-frame 7D? Who has shot stills + video on a full frame 5D? Is it really "that much better"?

are we talking $1800 and up here?
- yup. the 5D is pretty much my max price range.. with the 7D being my low end.ifeltdave

Expect a 5D mark iii and 7d mark ii in 2011.

are you going to using it for hobby or work?

Start with http://www.canonrumors.com/. Given that Canon broke with their normal product cycle of 1 1/2 yrs (ish) to release all these new models, it is difficult to say how long you will have to wait. (50D owner)

I think 5D can shot on 24p with latest firmware?

I'd get the 5D if I were you, because of its full-frame and excellent HD quality. Get the 7D if you want to have a weatherproof dslr ;)

I was just reading about that firmware update for the 5Dii.. it does indeed bring 24fps. Still no support for 60fps at 720p, though. Not sure that's a huge deal to me, its just a killer feature to have. Now to find a good price on a 5D :)
Thanks for the intel.

5D Mark II has substantially better stills as long as the AF isn't an issue.... 7D has faster AF but much noisier images at higher ISO's.

For $500 more, get the 5D.
