I've just finished the container page to hold my latest interactive reel. Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to build a complete portfolio site. Instead of that, I screen captured some of the latest projects I've had the chance to work on and edit the footage on what I'm hopping is a high-impact reel under a minute.
Any constructive feedback is very much appreciated. Thanks.

Why the time constraints? Viewers might appreciate the subtleties more if this was a bit slower. Great work btw.

Dope man. Lots of familiar work. I did the same thing too (came out with a reel first and then a site....2 years later)

yeah agreed on both accounts. I would like to see a larger player, and not quite sure why it needs to be so fast. A good mograph/compositing reel can be around a minute (on the short side), but I wouldn't think an interactive reel would need to be.
It is edited well as it's own piece, but I would like to see the work in a little more detail.

nice body of work dparra!

thank you guys, I'll definitely check on the pacing and length (maybe extended it to 60-90 seconds) for the next edit.

i like the length, if someone wants more, thats a good thing, and send it to them, or go in person and take em through it

where are you based? always nice to know FL devs.

Great work.
I think the ending could be better. It just kind of stops.

@UKV - I'm currently in Monterrey, Mexico and travel on on/off basis to Vancouver, Canada for certain projects. You? Seattle?
@whereRI - that's my original idea as well, but wanted to know if other people felt the same

any feedback on the container page? please, let me know whatever you think either good/bad
critique, critique, critique please!

you could make the video larger...
- dparra0
ya, I think making the video larger is a must... I'm looking into it. Thanks for the feedback!

You should not repeat any project, which would allow you to use the project names as both the timeline for the video, and also to link to the live project too where applicable. just my opinion though.

what's your take on using vimeo player instead of a custom video player? I've heard comments that it doesn't look professional and others that it actually looks better. what's your impression on this?
I mainly use Vimeo because it allows of commenting, track # of times video was played and to tunnel video bandwidth through vimeo.
- since you're a flash dev, I'd make my own player.zarkonite

you can get a semi-chromeless player from vimeo from the plus account ($60/year - http://vimeo.com/plus) and you can take out the vimeo logo/ seek bar/ embed + like + share icons.
but you can always just use google analytics event tracking + a custom as3 player that you make. yes!

sweet! loving it

like it, but looks outdated, 2009?
