So, we've all had the design in PSD and translate to the web experience..
I was wondering
Are there any designers out there who design in CSS and then create ancillary graphics in photoshop?

Sure. Slow designers.

I did that originally. Coded the page layout first, then added necessary graphics and visual elements.

used to- much faster to not design in CSS first

So, say.. some kind of fully featured drag-a-box-create-an-image-inlin... graphics creation thing would be of absolutely no interest to any serious designer.

Could be Photoshop or could be any graphics software really....
I think the problem is that I have been using Photoshop for so long, that it almost feels like a sketchpad.
I don't really have to think to much if I want to do visualize something.I onced tried Gimp, and the amount of time it would take me to do very simple things, was sooo frustrating....
- dude - I have to put some more attention in my grammar. This reads like shiiieet.clearThoughts

once you get to a certain point in your comp it's time to translate it especially when making color changes, why open up a thousand layers when you could change a line of code? after that photoshop is just creating supporting graphics

Actually this is a good question. IMO there's a great deal of potential for a tool that lets you edit HTML directly in a convincing way, but the technology's not completely there yet.
I think eventually some kind of live editing will take over.
