So the iPad is coming to stores tomorrow. I wonder what the reception is going to be. I think it might surprise a few people...i believe that overall it's going to be a successful product because of its link to apps and especially the publishing world which can now create through social networking tools what I call the hyper-circulation of content...anyway, predictions anyone?

i'd find some practical uses for it if it fit in my pocket and i could take it everywhere i go...

a majority of the talk has been around the lack of support for flash...it makes sense for them not to have flash...i think after watching what the apps could possibly do...i think it's going to bite into kindle...i really see it as a content machine which is not flash's strong point...and i thought advertising was going to ignore it, because it wouldn't support rich online experiences...but it might support richer brand experiences that are actually measurable for the old guard of traditional media...

It sucks, it's for fanboys and delusional "new media" parasites.

Hard to imagine it could be as popular as the iPhone. But here's hoping!

There's almost nothing but positive praise out there for it.
Check the reviews .. just about everyone is loving it.
It's going to give the journalism and print media industry a possible way to start selling digital content direct to consumers. I guess the pundits know which side their bread is buttered...

Ease of use could make it popular with old people. Ready access to porn, in a more portable package, will make it popular with husbands. Enormous amounts of fresh shopping content will make it popular with women. Games, endless music, TV on internet, and all kinds of new low-brow shit will make it popular with youngsters. Who won't want it, eventually?

I believe it's going to do fairly good, way better than Apple TV which is a good example of an Apple product that hasn't done really good.

There is way more at stake than with Apple TV. If it flops, people will be making Maxipad jokes for years.

so i overheard a conversaion today with someone asking this guy how he likes his ipad. his unenthusiastic response was "um, it's alright... i mean, it's cool, but when i get home, i'd rather use my laptop because it has a keyboard".
i wonder what's going to happen once the novelty wears off. apple are geniuses and creating hype, and it's customer base generally can't see past it. so it seems to me it's going to take some killer apps for this thing to not fall into technology obscurity. agree?
- I give credit to the fanboys and competitors for the hype. Except for the press conference, Apple was silent.monospaced

So if the iPad replaces newspapers, will all iPads have greasy finger marks? I'm just saying because TV told me everyone eats breakfast while reading the newspaper

@Steve
that doesnt surprise me one bit, its a nice bit of kit, but i think its awesomeness is 65%-hype 35%-authentic.
i approve of original devices though...well not original cus its a giant iphone, but i approve of trying to create something slightly different.
