Going on a road trip...I was looking for some west coast people to help me out on some cool art shops/galleries, dive bars, great food and things to photograph on my way. Pretty much an inspiration/art trip. Going to be in L.A., San Francisco and everything in between.
Not really into the big tourist attraction stuff but more of the "you kind of have to live here to know about it" stuff.

sorry, didn't think that one through. if you want to start the trip off with a blind lady night, i'm in.

So much great stuff along that trip, it would require a massive post.
I always loved the Fish Taco's at Rimel's in La Jolla.
My favorite beach in the LA (Malibu) area is El Matador.
Big Sur will blow everything away though.SD, LA, and SF have so many great dive bars and beach culture... I can't even think of specific ones. Oh man... and burgers!
I'll post specific LA stuff later on. When are you going?
- thanks. i know it's a lot. i was just hoping for a few randoms from people. thanks though.cbass99

If you see an older Frenchman hitchhiking near Palo Colorado, pick him up. His name is Gabriel and he knows all the cool spots to be in Big Sur that the locals won't tell you about.

I did this trip in April 2008. Awesome drive but I wish I could have taken more time and gone further south. Point Lobos state park is definitely worth a visit. Some pics from my trip: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mat…
