yeah it was a long time ago. but i recently started responding and it seems like they get a massive amount of responses...so it's not even worth the effort at least in NYC

wow, creative circle... I got a "fake interview" from them a long long time ago. You know the interview where you think it's with a company and you step inside the place to find out it's a staffing agency? (yeah I fell for it pretty good back then). Lucky enough for me their "Quark station" was in use, and I was to come back the following week for my evaluation.
Funny thing, the one thing that caught my attention was that at the time they had this super cheesy logo, which is weird for a company that advertised design or promotion services, and I see they have updated the logo since...
On the other hand, I like Creative Group, Update Graphics and I used to like Aquent too. (not Aquent any more after the design competition fiasco last year)

To sum it up, they call back when they want you to hire their peeps, but they don't call back as much when you need a job. And they are horrible at giving constructive crits on your folio. If it's good, they'll push you. If not, they'll sign you on, and never call.
That being said, I've gotten some good beginning designers from them, and overall, CC has been nothing but polite and professional. I'm sure they deal with dozens of whiny bitches all day long, so they should be granted some slack...but not much.
