An end in 2012

When the Mayans envisioned the world coming to an end in 2012 — at least in the Hollywood telling — they didn’t count junk bonds among the perils that would lead to worldwide disaster.
Maybe they should have, because 2012 also is the beginning of a three-year period in which more than $700 billion in risky, high-yield corporate debt begins to come due, an extraordinary surge that some analysts fear could overload the debt markets.
With huge bills about to hit corporations and the federal government around the same time, the worry is that some companies will have trouble getting new loans, spurring defaults and a wave of bankruptcies.
The United States government alone will need to borrow nearly $2 trillion in 2012, to bridge the projected budget deficit for that year and to refinance existing debt.

Couldn't they have done it in a, I dunno, less annoying-internet-infographicy way?

are you talking about the graphs? cause they kinda existed before the net and they're kinda useful.

This is why I enjoy the simple life on the outskirts of civilization... too bad Big Sur will probably be the first place to drop into the ocean during the apocalypse. I guess I can settle for my cabin-to-be in South Carolina...
- just stock tinned goods and water. ya'll be fine.airey

- btw did you know humans can outrun deer in a forest?ismith
- it takes a little technique but it's quit practical to hunt deer on foot with just a knife if need be.ismith

- of course that's only if you can't survive on plant life aloneismith
- it's easier with a semi-auto rifle and landmines.airey

So, about this running faster than dear - is that only because we can catch them off at passes and out think them during the run?
I have a strange feeling this may come in handy for me

Most mammals can sprint faster than humans — having four legs gives them the advantage. But when it comes to long distances, humans can outrun almost any animal. Because we cool by sweating rather than panting, we can stay cool at speeds and distances that would overheat other animals. On a hot day, the two scientists wrote, a human could even outrun a horse in a 26.2-mile marathon.

I thoroughly believe Mayans predicted a $700 billion in risky, high-yield corporate debt in America, 2012, and the shattering waves and volcanoes it will no doubt ignite.

what about a golden shopping trolley?

There are some plastic ones, you can burn to get warm in the long cold winters

...except 2012 was a miscalculation and nothing is going to happen for at least another 200 years. How's that for a timeline!
