I haven't seen anything but the trailer - they have very nice bodies and are good looking.

One of the great guilty pleasures in TV history

Gods of the Arena has started pretty strong. Much better than the first few episodes of Blood & Sand.

Feel real bad of the Spartacus actor, hope he has a full recovery.

I like this show ... its pure adult entertainment .. lots of sex, lots of violence ... and I love the mixed language of classical Roman dialect sprinkled with fuck shit piss cunt cock

so... i'm on netflix... watching episode 1...
... it starts off w/a disclaimer about sensuality, sexuality, brutality... etc etc... all for the purpose of authenticity...
... then - it shows Spartacus... perfect / sexy / POW... then his wife... perfect / sexy / KABOOM... (legs shaven, hair perfect... 'etc etc')...
... the 'authenticity' of her boobies reminds me of this one time in Mexico as a kid when my Mom bought this Louis Vuitton bag for a mere $6 American...
... not starting off honestly - but there were boobies and a few sword fights (and I'm not talking a bunch of 7 year old boys around the toilet)...
... I'll give it a couple more episodes.

I like that people look for Shakespeare in a show about Gladiators.

They're all so perfect and beautiful... I feel as if I'm watching Fox News.

first episode of 'Gods of the Arena' was pretty good. Looks like they got more money this time around. Soft-Core with a story!

Just finished watching the first season. It's entertaining and does what it set out to do.

The actor who played Spartacus had his cancer return after treatment. Gods of the Arena was supposed to be a stalling measure, but it doesn't look like Blood and Sand can continue without recasting or total retooling.

I think it is absolutely awful. I detest the overused effects and the way it is just trying to be a mish-mash of the roman-greek epic films.
If special effects are going to look forced I don't think they should be used. The 'slow-mo blood shots' that are overkilled in this look awful. Someone up high has pretty obviously loved it in 300, where it is done well, and insisted it be used in almost every scene.
I have only watched the first 2 episodes and I found it cringeworthy.
- They really overused the effects in the first few episodes, but toned it way down after,ETM
