Font choice help!

  Heyup,

  I'm working on some books where a lot of type needs to be displayed as code. Apparently the optimal line length for the writers and editor is 80 characters per line.

  Courier is slightly too wide for this, and I'm kinda stuck between pt size and the page margins, so can anyone point me in the direction of a narrow or condensed monospaced font that is suitable for code?

  Currently toying with Andale Mono, substantially tracked in, but it looks like shit without lots of work on the kerning, which I don't think I have time for as the books run anything up to 400pp

  Any ideas appreciated!
