im looking to have a large flat area of yellow colour on an advert for my brother, but i understand that simply blocking yellow in cymk isnt the best option, anyone got any tips to help make this sweet and not have banding and speckling issues?

What about creating a solid yellow in photoshop but then just adding a smattering of noise in it?

- In my experience adding 10-20% of magenta is good for any yellow.ainku

let's not use white type on that bight yellow. :-)
- Unless you're giving it a nice big pink stroke. Then its a-ok!aanderton

Use a spot color/colour or don't bother.

You know you can spec 100% Yellow from the "Y" in CMyK right? Which makes it just like using a spot color.

Usually happens on heat transfer laser printers and ink jets are hard to get pantone colors. Check and see if they are using off-set and get a blue-line before it goes to final print.
