Web Design Quoting

I am just curious how you guys quote web design only, no coding. I feel that figuring out my hourly rate multiplied by how long it would actually take me seems a bit low.
Right now I am quoting a website design company that needs a website for a company providing financial services. There are 7 pages including the home page.
Given my numbers I am estimating $1500 for the design and 7 working days for the project. Is that a good quote, or is it too low? This is my first time quoting a web design company for freelance contract work. I have usually quoted people I knew with small budgets in the past.
Also, what are standard practices with contracts? Should I ask for half up front? How does this usually work?

How many hours are you estimating? How many initial homepage designs?

I would focus on 1 home page design, but could do up to 3 concepts if needed

7 days seems a bit tight when you take into consideration: research, exploration, creation, meetings, reviews, changes, invoicing. unless by 7 working days you mean 56 hours or work not the timeline.
Also if you do mean 56 hrs then you're hourly rate is much too low.

bump the price you are going to have to show at-least 2 concepts then go through rounds of revisions to nail the look and feel then do the subpages based on the homepage design look and feel. its more work then just 7 pages, that is if you do it the right way

I am estimating 8 hours per page, but I am sure that it would probably take under that amount maybe 5-7 on most pages.

"hey can you design a website for me?"
"well I can design how it would look, but that's about it"
"....and you're a web designer?"

Don't forget revisions. I usually estimate that changes will take about 50% of my initial design time.
- yeah thats true, I know revisions can eat up a bunch of time.wademd
