I've installed the analytics code over and over again this morning, and still my status reads as Tracking Unknown.
Do I just have to wait 24 hours?
If so, there's nothing more enraging to me than a UI that immediately says "you're doing it wrong" upon signup, when you're not.

Pretty sure it specifically says you may need to wait up to 24 hours.

Yes, it does say you may need to wait 24 hours, but it should show the 'wait for it' icon, not the 'you're doing it wrong' in order for me to feel like I'm not wasting a day on an assumption.

there's a way to force it to check without waiting 24 hours... log in, then click the "edit" link all the way to the right in the row that shows your domain name, status icon, dates, etc.. then on that page look for where it says "tracking unknown" and click the "check status" link next to it. this will make the googles check it right away.

I have been playing around with Analytics and it's a amazing peace of kit, give a day to pick up the code and all should be fine.
