I just came to the end of my 3g contract on 02. I decided to stay with them, as Orange doesn't work in Ealing West London for some reason. Nor does 3 mobile. So I guess you have to go on where you live/go.
So I stayed with 02 and got the 3Gs and I can honestly say its like night and day. the 3GS is like a completely different phone... no issues at all even down on Dartmoor last week.

Any more thoughts? Maybe I should scrap the iphone and get a crackberry... Your thoughts?

I live in London but find O2 really, really bad - trying to make calls AND using the internet...
I know that whatever I do - it is the wrong decision
:(

i dont care what people say, o2 has THE BEST coverage.
ive been on the others and in key locations o2 was the only supplier that still worked.

Aren't Vodaphone the KKK? I'm on O2 and get upset about the 3G at times and I don't get great reception, if at all in my flat. I would switch to Orange if I could without any hassles, if only to get the old 2 4 1 Orange Wednesdays again like the good old days.

was with orange for a number of years until a serious cluster fuck with phones4u, changing phones and contracts. It lead to having 2 phone bills and me paying the wrong one.
been longing to go back as every other network I have been with has been shite, but i keep locking myself into stupid contracts.

O2 coverage:
Vodafone:
Orange:
Vodafone have the worst customer service I've ever experienced, though I do hear their coverage is good. Orange are always helpful on the phone although it's true that in London you're fine but travel too far out and you can run into some problems with signal/ 3G coverage.

I'm with Orange and I actually find my coverage is not as good as when I was on Vodafone. I tend to be in London/Berkshire and Plymouth. In central London the signal is good with a few annoying voids. Plymouth is ok all around but back home in Berkshire there are a lot of dead zones.
With Vodafone I had great coverage everywhere but found the customer service to be horrible. I thought Vodafone had listened and not renewed my contract when I stopped receiving bills for 3 months, only for them to reactivate it at a higher cost later on because my "I'm leaving you" letter requested for a PAC code, which I later decided not to use.
Find out how reliable the networks are in the areas you'll be in, as coverage is great in some places but not on others. I got a good deal on my Orange contract, but when I'm back in Berkshire (rarely) it seems to be by far the worst network.

I'm on Orange and I'd say it's the best service provider. Plus you get two for one pizza and a movie on a Wednesday, and of course it has the best 3G coverage (it really does).
