Who has spent the most on screwing them over?

it would get more complicated if the charts addressed the effectiveness of the money spent, how much was tied aid etc.

I hate the Guardian. They just find an opportunity to talk shit and talk shit.

I'm happy so many countries gave something,
we shouldn't complain about who, what and how much they gave.we should look carefully at the fund that were allowed by the IMF because their track record isn't quite clean

But it's so fucking self-righteous from them low.... The West has fucked most countries on this planet. It doesn't matter though now does it? The country is leveled and all the soapbox chatter in the world wont change it or help it.

yea the Guardian can be self-rightous a lot of the time.
but in my mind, the issue needs to be highlighted or it will keep happening.
I remember in secondary school learning about the problems of tied aid, restructuring by international financial institutions such as theWorld Bank and IMF etc . We also learned about the deep problems caused by countries failing on poilitical promises of aid - i.e. countries promise money, donor country invests in machinery food etc, country pull back on promoises and donor country ends up with the bill.
that was along time ago and the same stuff is still happening

I hate crap like this...
For example you could have sent 20 tonnes of aid, 50% of which could still be en route.. therefore only having delivered the first but not the second means you are seen to have not delivered on pledges..
People make the numbers look how they want them to appear.
Who gives a shit about who gives the most and focus on what can be done for the poor people there, not pat ourselves on the back for being more generous than each other..

Its amazing the difference when a natural disaster happens close to the US instead of the other side of the world
