I need to convert a quicktime to a flash file with a skin to upload to a website.
Do I need to covert the file to swf or flv and what is the best free app to do this?

- Convert to FLV using Sorenson Squeeze
- Then import into flash and use the video components for the skins/controls etc
- Then export out as a SWF

^ I've converted to flv, imported into flash, chose my skin on import and can now see it on my stage. However when I export to swf, the file size is 60kb and the skin is exported separately. What am I doing wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong. The FLA you created becomes the "container" SWF, which will pull in the controls SWF and the FLV file. 3 files total. Just make sure the paths to these 2 external SWFs are correct in the Component Inspector and you are ready to rock.
