Hey guys!
I'm looking to password protect a PDF that Im going to openly host on my website. My website is a C-a-rg(o) run and hosted and I don't believe there is a way to do this through it's CMS.
I've recently been laid off and I need to shop around a new PDF i've made, with work that I can't post to be viewed ONLINE by everyone. Any suggestions?!

doesn't acrobat offer password protection options on export?

ah, yes, just found that outlined on a blog :-|
What I was really looking for was some kind of way to password protect the download! I'm sure there are clever ways of skirting the PDF password...

if you have ftp access, or ssh access, you can do this with changes to the .htaccess file.
some hosting facilities also have a web control panel that will allow you to password protect files/directories with a gui.
