When I got my first powerbook, I bought all kinds of accessories for it, that eventually all ended up in the trash, because they were unnecessary..
The only think I kept was a little microfiber cloth that has the Powerbook G4 embossed on it. Laptops came and went, but that cloth always stays on top of the keyboard when I close it, and I wipe the screen w it, as soon as I open it.
As far as stands go, I have one that I use on gigs, just so the computer stays elevated from possible wet surfaces and dirt. But it stays on my gig bag, I like the laptop to be on the table. But that's just me :)

^ That microfibre thing is a must on recent MacBooks as neither the Air nor Retina Pros have glass screen anymore and they easily get keyboard/trackpad edge marks on them. I use http://www.radtech.us/Products/N… but any piece of microfibre should do.
